The Arista 750X Series consists of two modular campus switch chassis, the CCS-758-X3 (8-slot, 10RU) and the CCS-755-X3 (5-slot, 7RU), delivering up to 1.6 Tbps and 1.15 Tbps of switching capacity respectively. Each chassis accepts interchangeable line cards across five form factors, spanning 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G copper downlinks with PoE power levels of 30W, 60W, and 90W per port. The CCS-758-X3 accommodates up to 384 ports and the CCS-755-X3 up to 240 ports, giving network architects a single modular platform that scales from small-to-medium core deployments to high-density enterprise distributions.
Each chassis houses two supervisor modules in a 1+1 Active/Standby arrangement with sub-second stateful failover, eliminating single points of failure at the campus core. Supervisors carry a Quad-Core x86 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 120 GB of SSD storage, and either 2× 100G QSFP or 4× 25G SFP uplink ports for spine or aggregation connectivity. Hot-swap power supplies (ten for the CCS-758-X3 and six for the CCS-755-X3), combined with N+1 hot-swap cooling fans, ensure that no maintenance operation requires a planned downtime window. Arista EOS runs as a common binary across the platform, providing a consistent operational model whether managing a single 755 chassis or a large multi-site 750X estate.
Two chassis sizes, 8-slot/10RU and 5-slot/7RU, share the same line-card ecosystem, letting a single deployment mix 1G access edge line cards with 10G aggregate line cards in the same chassis. Port density scales to 384 (CCS-758-X3) or 240 (CCS-755-X3) across five available line-card types spanning 1G through 10G copper, eliminating the need for external patch panels or aggregation switches in medium-density cores.
Line cards deliver 30W (802.3at), 60W (802.3bt), or 90W (802.3bt) per port across 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G copper connections, with per-port PoE power negotiation ensuring that power draw is matched to the attached device rather than allocated statically. The 90W 10G-T cards support the highest-wattage access devices, such as PTZ cameras, PoE lighting, and advanced Wi-Fi 7 APs, directly from the campus chassis without a separate PoE injector or midspan device.
802.1AE MACsec encryption is supported on every port, access line-card downlinks and supervisor uplinks alike, providing hop-by-hop Layer 2 data confidentiality and integrity across the campus without requiring separate encryption appliances. MACsec key agreement negotiates sessions using 802.1X, and EVPN Type 2 and Type 5 routes propagate over encrypted VXLAN tunnels supporting up to 16.7 million virtual networks for full multi-tenant segmentation at campus scale.
Active/Standby supervisor redundancy with stateful switchover means that a supervisor failure produces a forwarding interruption measured in milliseconds rather than minutes. Each supervisor is independently managed, independently powered, and hot-swappable, and the ten (CCS-758-X3) or six (CCS-755-X3) power supplies are divided into independent supply groups so that a PSU failure cannot knock out the entire chassis. Combined with N+1 hot-swap fan trays, the 750X chassis is engineered for continuous availability in campus core roles.
