Compact 12- and 28-port campus PoE switches with up to 90W per port, fixed internal PSU (180W or 460W), 64-way ECMP, and 10G SFP+ uplinks for small-to-medium deployments.
The Arista CCS-710XP Compact Series provides two small-form-factor campus access switches, the 710XP-12TH-2S and the 710XP-28TNH-2S, that deliver 10G SFP+ uplinks and multi-wattage PoE from a compact chassis sized for small wiring closets, under-desk mounting, and AV-equipment rack positions where a full 1RU switch is physically larger than the available mounting space. The 710XP-12TH-2S is fanless, offering 8 standard 1G RJ45 ports at 30W and four ports at 60W, sufficient for a small cluster of IP phones, a PoE camera or two, and a Wi-Fi AP, while the 710XP-28TNH-2S adds a cooling fan to support a larger 24×1G/4×5G PoE port configuration capable of serving a modest-sized meeting room or branch floor segment.
Both models include a fixed internal power supply (available in 180W or 460W for the 710XP-12TH-2S) that eliminates the external brick common to ultra-compact switches, simplifying cable management in small enclosures. Two 1/10G SFP+ uplink ports accept copper DAC cables through to 40 km single-mode optics, matching the transceiver support range of the larger 710P and 710HXP siblings in the 710-series campus family. Forwarding tables at 16K MAC addresses, 8K/4K IPv4/IPv6 hosts, and 2K/512 IPv4/IPv6 routes provide capacity appropriate to access-layer roles connecting up to several hundred endpoints through the switch. Arista EOS runs on both models, preserving consistent CLI, ZTP provisioning, and CloudVision telemetry integration across the 710XP compact and the rest of the Arista campus portfolio.
The 710XP-12TH-2S fits into mounting positions that a standard 1RU switch cannot occupy: wall-mount brackets, shallow AV racks, floor box enclosures, and under-desk brackets, while still delivering two 10G SFP+ uplinks alongside its 12 PoE copper ports. The 710XP-28TNH-2S scales to 28 ports in a compact body that supports higher-density access deployments in spaces without a dedicated IDF room, such as branch offices, retail units, and hospitality back-of-house areas.
The 710XP-28TNH-2S combines 24 ports at 30W (802.3at) with four high-power 5G multi-gigabit ports at 90W (802.3bt), allowing a single compact switch to simultaneously serve a mix of standard PoE devices (VoIP phones, single-radio APs) on the 30W ports and high-draw devices (multi-radio APs, PTZ cameras, digital signage) on the 90W ports. PoE budgets of 150W or 360W from the choice of internal PSU mean the switch can be matched to the actual power load without replacing hardware.
Two 1/10G SFP+ ports provide the same uplink performance as full-size 710-series switches, supporting structured cabling runs from 0.5 m copper DAC through to 40 km ER single-mode fibre. This means compact deployments in remote floors or buildings connect to distribution at the same uplink speed as larger wiring closet switches, avoiding a bottleneck that would otherwise arise if compact-chassis switches were limited to 1G uplinks.
An internal fixed power supply, with no external brick and no wall-wart, keeps the installation footprint self-contained in mounting positions where a loose external PSU would be impractical to cable-manage. The switch runs a complete Arista EOS instance on both models, supporting 802.1X, LLDP, RSTP/MSTP, QoS, gNMI/OpenConfig telemetry, and Zero Touch Provisioning, features identical to those available on the larger 720D and 720XP campus switches deployed at the distribution tier above these compact access units.
