The Arista O-435 is a Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) outdoor access point rated for continuous operation across a temperature range of -40°C to +65°C, covering the thermal extremes encountered in parking structures, sports grounds, campus courtyards, transport hubs, and warehouse exteriors. Three concurrent 2×2:2 access radios on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz deliver a combined peak physical rate of 5.75 Gbps, while a dedicated fourth radio handles WIPS monitoring and on-demand client connectivity testing without affecting access radio throughput. Both Ethernet ports (LAN1 providing a 5 GbE PoE++ (802.3bt) upstream connection and LAN2 providing 802.3af PoE output for a downstream device such as an outdoor camera or environmental sensor) carry IP67 weatherproof ratings, meaning the port interfaces themselves are sealed against water ingress without requiring additional weatherproof covers in exposed mounting positions.

Power input is via 802.3bt PoE++ at Class 6 (33W maximum draw), with the LAN2 PSE output active only when the AP is powered from a PoE++ supply; on 802.3at (PoE+) the AP operates but LAN2 PSE is disabled. Integrated GNSS provides accurate positioning data for the AP and any GPS-enabled downstream devices, useful in applications such as fleet tracking terminals, outdoor digital signage, and precision agriculture monitoring where the AP also serves as a location reference. MTBF measured at 263,780 hours at the AP's maximum rated temperature of 65°C (over 1 million hours at 25°C ambient) reflects the thermal engineering required to sustain reliability in sun-exposed outdoor installations where surface temperatures exceed ambient air temperature by significant margins.

-40°C to +65°C Operating Range

The O-435's certified operating temperature range covers outdoor conditions from Arctic winter lows to direct-sun surface temperatures in tropical climates, a range that eliminates the need for heated enclosures or supplemental cooling in all but the most extreme deployments. At the rated upper limit of 65°C, the fanless chassis relies entirely on passive thermal management through the enclosure's thermal mass and external surface area, which also means there are no moving parts to fail due to weather exposure or particulate ingestion over the AP's deployment life.

IP67 Weatherproof Ports

Both Ethernet ports carry IP67 ratings (dust-tight and capable of sustained submersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes), providing ingress protection at the port interface itself rather than requiring the AP to be housed inside a separately sealed enclosure. LAN1 connects to an upstream PoE++ switch over standard outdoor-rated Cat6A or Cat6 cables terminated in standard RJ-45 plugs, while LAN2's 802.3af PSE output can power a co-located downstream device such as an IP security camera, environmental sensor, or RFID reader directly from the AP without a separate PoE injector at the mounting point.

Integrated GNSS

An onboard GNSS receiver provides location data at the AP itself, enabling position-aware services and accurate event timestamping for applications that require knowing where and when a wireless event occurred, including outdoor asset tracking terminals, IoT gateways serving GPS-enabled field devices, and deployments using location-based access policy. GNSS integration also allows the AP to report its own coordinates to Arista CloudVision for automatic topology mapping, reducing the manual survey work required when deploying APs across large campuses or distributed outdoor sites.

Wi-Fi 7 Tri-Band with 6GHz Outdoor

6GHz spectrum availability in outdoor environments provides an interference-free channel for high-throughput client associations in public spaces where 2.4GHz and 5GHz are congested by adjacent-building APs and consumer devices. The O-435's 6GHz radio supports Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) where required by regulation, ensuring that the AP's 6GHz transmit parameters comply with jurisdiction-specific power and channel restrictions for outdoor standard-power operation, a regulatory requirement that makes AFC-capable hardware a prerequisite for outdoor 6GHz deployment in many markets.
