Arista CCS-720XPM/XDM Series PoE and Non-PoE Switches

The Arista CCS-720XPM/XDM Series provides three campus switch models sharing a common 336 Gbps switching fabric and 2× 10G plus 4× 25G uplink configuration across 48 copper RJ45 downlinks or 32 SFP fibre downlinks. The 720XPM-48TH-6SY is the PoE model, delivering 90W 802.3bt on all 48 RJ45 downlinks simultaneously from a 1050W or 2000W PSU that provides up to 2030W of combined PoE budget when two supplies operate in parallel. The 720XDM-48T-6SY is an identical port-count non-PoE variant for data-only access deployments, and the 720XDM-32S-6SY replaces copper RJ45 with 32 1G SFP fibre ports for environments where fibre-to-the-desk or structured fibre distribution is in place. All three models include 802.1AE MACsec 256-bit encryption on every downlink and uplink port, with 50 Gbps MACsec throughput available simultaneously in both directions.

Forwarding tables — 64K MAC addresses, 32K/16K IPv4/IPv6 hosts, 16K/6K IPv4/IPv6 routes, 64-way ECMP, 64 MST/254 RPVST+ spanning-tree instances, and 4K IGMP groups — scale the 720XPM/XDM family above the 710-series compact switches and into territory appropriate for dense wiring-closet or campus distribution aggregation roles where large MAC table requirements arise from multi-hundred-device access floors. Arista EOS provides the common software foundation, and both the CloudVision Cognitive Management Plane (CMP) and the Zero Touch Provisioning workflow operate identically across the XPM and XDM variants, simplifying mixed-deployment scenarios where some floors require PoE and others do not.
