Electronic Trading

Layer 1 and FPGA-based switching purpose-built for exchange connectivity, market data distribution, and high-frequency trading, with fan-out latencies as low as single-digit nanoseconds using the 7130 platform family.

Talk to a Specialist

Arista's Layer 1 and FPGA-based switching platforms address the full latency range of electronic trading infrastructure, from the sub-200 ns Layer 2 switching of the 7132LB and 7135LB series to the programmable Layer 1 replication and fan-out of the 7130 platform family with fan-out latencies as low as single-digit nanoseconds. These platforms are purpose-built for exchange connectivity, market data distribution, and high-frequency trading environments where each nanosecond of avoidable latency represents measurable execution risk.

The 7130 series Layer 1 FPGA switch operates below the software processing layer, forwarding market data feeds at the speed of electrical or optical signal propagation through the device. This makes it the right platform for passive fan-out architectures where a single exchange market data feed must be replicated to many trading strategy servers simultaneously, with each replica receiving an identical and identically timed copy. The 7132LB and 7135LB extend the portfolio with FPGA-based Layer 2 and Layer 2+ switching at 25G speeds, adding IP routing and PTP timing while maintaining sub-200 ns latency for exchange gateway and order management connectivity.

Arista EOS runs across both the 7130 and 7132/7135 platform families, enabling consistent management, telemetry, and automation from CloudVision regardless of whether a port is operating at Layer 1, Layer 2, or Layer 3. PTP (IEEE 1588v2) precision timing integration supports the timestamping accuracy required by regulatory reporting frameworks and co-location facility timing infrastructure that trading firms depend on for best-execution documentation and market surveillance compliance.

Single-Digit Nanosecond Fan-Out (7130)

The 7130 platform family operates at the Layer 1 level, forwarding market data feeds at the speed of signal propagation through the device (measured in single-digit nanoseconds), making it suitable for passive fan-out architectures where a single exchange feed must be replicated to many trading strategy servers simultaneously with identical timing.

Sub-200 ns Layer 2/3 Switching (7132/7135)

The 7132LB and 7135LB FPGA platforms extend the portfolio with 133 ns L2 and 150 ns L3 latency at 25G, adding IP routing and PTP timing while maintaining the sub-200 ns end-to-end latency that high-frequency trading strategies require for exchange gateway and order management system connectivity.

PTP Timing Integration

PTP (IEEE 1588v2) precision timing integration across the 7132LB and 7135LB supports the timestamping accuracy required by regulatory reporting frameworks, including MiFID II best execution requirements, and the co-location facility timing infrastructure that trading firms depend on for audit and compliance documentation.

Unified EOS Management Across Layer 1 and Layer 2

Arista EOS runs across the 7130, 7132LB, 7135LB, and 7135V families, enabling consistent management, streaming telemetry, and automation from CloudVision regardless of whether a port is operating at Layer 1 or Layer 2, eliminating the separate management plane that dedicated Layer 1 infrastructure traditionally requires.
