VeloCloud SD-WAN Edge 4100 & 5100 Series

The VeloCloud SD-WAN Edge 4100 and 5100 Series addresses larger-scale SD-WAN deployments (regional hub sites, data center edge nodes, and high-throughput branch facilities) within the same VeloCloud Orchestrator management plane as the smaller 7x0 branch appliances. Both models are available in standard and Wi-Fi-integrated variants, and in China-certified configurations (C-suffix) with a China-specific TPM module for regulatory compliance in PRC deployments.

The 4100 and 5100 serve as the aggregation tier in hub-and-spoke SD-WAN topologies, concentrating traffic from multiple downstream branch appliances across MPLS, broadband, and wireless WAN links before handoff to the data center or cloud edge. At this tier, appliance throughput is the primary constraint, and the 4100/5100 platform provides the headroom needed to sustain full-utilization forwarding across all WAN links simultaneously without becoming a bottleneck in the overall SD-WAN topology.

Wi-Fi variants add access-point functionality integrated with the SD-WAN appliance, eliminating a separate access point for sites where wireless connectivity is needed without requiring a high-density wireless deployment. N-suffix models omit Wi-Fi for sites that have dedicated wireless infrastructure or where wireless is not required, keeping cost and power consumption matched to actual site requirements. The same VeloCloud Orchestrator instance manages all 7x0, 4100, and 5100 appliances alongside virtual edge deployments in cloud environments.
