The Arista C-430 is a Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) indoor access point with three concurrent access radios (one each on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz) each running a 2×2:2 MIMO configuration, plus a dedicated fourth radio for WIPS monitoring and scheduled client connectivity testing. The 6GHz band operates across UNII-5, UNII-6, UNII-7, and UNII-8 sub-bands (5.925–7.125 GHz), and its 320 MHz channel width capability delivers a peak physical data rate of 5.75 Gbps on 6GHz alone, equal to the combined 5GHz and 2.4GHz capacity of most previous-generation APs. A total of 783 clients can be simultaneously associated across all three bands, distributed as 271 on 2.4GHz, 256 on 5GHz, and 256 on 6GHz, with 802.11be multi-link operation enabling clients to aggregate bandwidth across bands simultaneously.
Two 5 GbE uplink ports (both PoE+ (802.3at) compliant and MACsec capable) provide redundant upstream connectivity to the wired campus network. Maximum power draw is 24W, which is within reach of standard 802.3at PoE+ switch ports that supply 30W at the port, making the C-430 deployable from the Arista 720D and 720XP campus switch families without requiring PoE++ upgrades. 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) operation on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz simultaneously allows clients capable of multi-link operation (MLO) to aggregate capacity across bands within a single association, increasing individual client throughput and reducing latency variance compared with band-steering approaches that move a client from one band to another. The 6GHz radio's access to clean, uncongested spectrum in UNII-5 through UNII-8 sub-bands is the primary throughput advantage of the C-430 over Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E predecessors deploying in spectrum already crowded with legacy 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices.
Two independent 5 GbE uplink ports allow the C-430 to connect to two separate PoE+ switch ports for link redundancy, with hitless failover if one uplink loses connectivity. Both ports support 802.1AE MACsec encryption, protecting campus traffic from LAN1 through to the distribution switch without requiring in-line encryption appliances. In high-density deployments where individual AP throughput approaches 5 Gbps on 6GHz alone, having two physical uplinks available also allows the AP's aggregate traffic to be distributed across two separate switch port queues.
A fourth 2×2 radio operates independently from the three access radios, continuously monitoring the RF environment for rogue access points, unauthorised client associations, and deauthentication flood attacks on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, and performing scheduled client connectivity tests that simulate the full association-to-gateway sequence from the AP's radio perspective. Because this radio is dedicated, WIPS monitoring and client testing impose zero throughput overhead on the access radios, a meaningful operational difference from APs that rotate an access radio off-channel to perform the same functions.
Three gigabytes of RAM and 8 GB of eMMC flash storage host the full CloudVision CV-CUE management stack locally on the AP, enabling AI-driven troubleshooting, automated frequency coordination for the 6GHz band, and on-demand diagnostics to run at the AP without requiring a controller or cloud connection for every operation. This local intelligence means that routine RF optimisation and client troubleshooting continue functioning during periods of WAN outage, and that diagnostic data is available at the AP rather than requiring a round-trip to a central platform before a technician can begin investigating a reported issue.
