Arista CCS-710HXP Series Switches

The Arista CCS-710HXP Series comprises two fanless, IP30-rated ruggedized campus switches designed for environments that exceed the temperature, vibration, and enclosure constraints of standard office-grade networking hardware. The CCS-710HXP-28TXH-4S is a 1RU rack-mount switch with 24 ports of 1G copper PoE at 60W and four ports of 10G copper PoE at 90W, backed by four 10G SFP+ uplinks and a 208 Gbps switching fabric. The CCS-710HXP-20TNH-4S is a DIN-rail-mount model with 16 ports of 1G copper PoE at 30W and four ports of 5G copper PoE at 90W, sharing the same 10G SFP+ uplink and 95 Mpps forwarding engine as its rack-mount sibling. Both models operate across the extended temperature range typical of industrial switching platforms, covering warehouse floors, outdoor enclosures, transportation infrastructure, and manufacturing environments where switch placement in a climate-controlled IDF room is impractical.

A Quad-Core ARM processor handles the Arista EOS control plane, giving the 710HXP the same software capabilities as the standard campus 710-series family: 802.1X access control, LLDP-MED device discovery, RSTP/MSTP spanning tree, QoS queuing, and ZTP provisioning. Forwarding tables (16K MAC, 8K/4K IPv4/IPv6 hosts, 2K/512 IPv4/IPv6 routes, 64-way ECMP, and 1024 IGMP groups) are sized for access-layer roles where the 710HXP aggregates PoE-powered field devices (IP cameras, industrial sensors, wireless APs, and intercom systems) into the campus network over SFP+ fibre or copper uplinks. Latency is measured at 1.8 µs on RJ45 ports, maintaining sub-2-µs forwarding for time-sensitive industrial Ethernet traffic sharing the network with general-purpose campus data.
